President
Goodluck Jonathan has announced a cash reward of N1 million to each member of
the Super Eagles that won bronze at the 2014 African Nations Championship.
President Jonathan commended the players for showing the true
Nigerian spirit especially for their efforts in overturning a 3-goal deficit to
beat Morocco 4-3 in the quarter final of the tournament. Super Eagles chief
coach, Stephen Keshi got N1.5million while his assistants received N1 million
each. The team's backroom staff got N500,000 each. Nigeria made its maiden
appearance at the CHAN tournament that is strictly for only home-based players,
beating Zimbabwe to clinch bronze at the competition in South Africa.
