Celebrating Biola Alabi, MD M-Net

Biola Alabi, Managing Director of M-Net in Africa, has been named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum, and was recently named one of the 20 Youngest Power Women in Africa by Forbes Magazine. 

She is based in Lagos, Nigeria and in her current position, Alabi has spent the last four years helming M-Net’s increasing portfolio on the continent, most notably by expanding and enhancing the range of AfricaMagic channels available to audiences in sub-Saharan. The full range of AfricaMagic channels now available are – AfricaMagic, AfricaMagic Entertainment, AfricaMagic Movies, AfricaMagic Movies 1, AfricaMagic World,AfricaMagic Hausa, AfricaMagic Swahili and AfricaMagic Yoruba. 



In addition, during that time, she oversaw four editions of the massively popular reality super-series Big Brother Africa with audiences turning BigBrother Revolution, All Stars, Amplified, and StarGame into household names. 


She has also been central to ensuring the success of events and initiatives, like the glittering Face of Africa Finale in Lagos in 2010. 


To date, Alabi’s career has seen this University of Cincinnati graduate, with a degree in public health and marketing, go on to work with leading brands such as Sesame Street, Bigwords.com and Daewoo Motors, honing her skills in Asia, the US and Africa. - Mnet
